Just like with any fretless instrument, you have to use your ears to judge the pitch and adjust accordingly. Avoid using the lines as a crutch to good intonation. Now if you have a blank plank, then your options are fewer (and less complicated) for intonating the bridge. Just grab a measuring tape and measure from the nut exactly 17 inches. Mark the spot with a piece of tape and intonate to that spot, which 9 times out of 10 is just about in the center of the octave double dot marker. Remember like the lined board, your ear is judge of pitch, not the markers.
They print the information into an Adobe PDF document and offer rushed service guaranteed to provide you with the diagrams for your particular car in less than 24 hours. Bulldog.com offers a basic explanation of electrical information in an MS Word document; however they do not supply charts or schematics. Two other sites that I found to offer great information were Freeauto.com and 12voltresource.com. Freeauto.com provides complete color diagnostics for most makes and models. What I found interesting(?) is freeauto will provide you these color automotive electrical charts and all the other information on their informative website for $11.99.

There are some important things here to note. First, the pickups are actually out of phase. When both pickups on a Jazz bass are turn up full on, the pickups cancel out any hum that may be in the area. If you use one coil only, it will be in single coil mode, and you can pick up hum. If you like the sound of only one coil, and hate the hum, try using a split coil Jazz Bass pickup, and wire them in hum-bucking mode. Dimarzio make these, and they are a very good sounding pickup. I have used them on previous Jazz Basses, and they work well. I especially like the adjustable magnetic pole pieces, which are easily adjusted with an Allen screw driver. Secondly, the control knobs shown (above) are wired in the Jaco Pastorious prefered fashion: Volume, Volume, Tone. The standard method is to have: Volume, Pan, and Tone.
